A basic guide to use the portal

Main menu

The portal main menu shows all main section. Going on each item with the mouse pointer it shows also the subsections, if any.

Context menu

The context menu shows all the subsections of the current section.

"Breadcrumbs" menu

The "breadcrumbs" menu shows the whole path where you are. It's very useful to come back to previous sections or subsections.

Internal search engine

The system provides a powerful internal search engine with real-time results, that appears while you're digiting in the search box. Clicking on the header of the box you can access the "advanced search" form, to do a more detailed search.

Search by tags

Most pages and documents are "tagged" (marked with one or more tags) at their bottom.  So, you can find a page or document either by putting a tag name in the searchbox, or by clicking on one of the tags that appears at the bottom of another page or document after the words "Filed under:"

Sidebar

On the sidebar, below the searchbox, there are three boxes:

  • Latest News: where are showed the latest three (3) news published in the portal. Clicking on the header you can go to the "news" section.
  • Upcoming Events: where are showed the next (3) upcoming events published in the portal. Clicking on the header you can go to the "events" section.
  • Calendar: where the current date is marked with a square and the dates when some event happens are marked with different colors . If you put the mouse over these dates or if you click on it you can see the scheduled events.

Events

A useful feature in the events is the possibility to download the "vCal" or "iCal" file to put on your favourite calendar.
