Aerosol climatology in Dakar recently published

Time series of monthly averaged extinction profiles in MBour (Dakar, Senegal).

We are pleased to announce the publication of the following paper:

Mortier, A., Goloub, P., Derimian, Y., Tanré, D., Podvin, T., Blarel, L., Daeroo, C., Marticorena, B., Diallo, A., and Ndiaye, T. (2016). Climatology of aerosol properties and clear‐sky shortwave radiative effects using Lidar and Sun photometer observations in the Dakar site. Journal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres 121, 6489-6510.

This paper presents the analysis of nearly a decade of continuous aerosol observations performed at the Mbour site (Dakar, Senegal) with Sun photometer, Lidar, and Tapered Electromagnetic Oscillating Microbalance.

This site is included in the ongoing SDS-WAS NRT Evaluation of model-derived dust vertical profiles.
