Aim and scope
The event is aimed at strengthening links and collaboration between the educational and the scientific communities. It is targeted to secondary school teachers.
Venue
The Izaña Atmospheric Observatory (IZO), managed by the State Meteorological Agency of Spain (AEMET), is located at the island of Tenerife (Canary Islands) at 2373 m a.s.l. The observatory is on the top of a mountain plateau, in a pre-national park area (Teide National Park) that is environmentally protected by the "Sky Law". IZO is normally above a temperature inversion layer, generally well established over the island, and so free of local anthropogenic influences.
