Evaluation of the dust multi-model median

by Enric Terradellas last modified Oct 14, 2014 12:42 PM

The exchange of forecast model products is recognized as a core part of the WMO SDS-WAS Science and Implementation Plan 2011-2015 and as a basis for the model inter-comparison and evaluation. The following models currently provide daily dust forecasts: BSC-DREAM8b, MACC, DREAM8-NMME-MACC, NMMB/BSC-Dust, MetUM, GEOS-5, NGAC, EMA Reg CM4 and DREAMABOL.

Different multi-model products are generated from the different prediction models. Two products describing centrality (multi-model median and mean) and two products describing spread (standard deviation and range of variation) are daily computed.

A document summarizing the evaluation scores of the multi-model median has been now released.
