Lectures on airborne dust at the ERA4CS Summer School

The SDS-WAS team will deliver two lectures on airborne dust at the ERA4CS Summer School (Pisa, Italy, 10-14 Sep 2018). ERA4CS SUMMER SCHOOL (ERA4CS-SS) will focus on multidisplinary, up to date view of the lasted observations, models, projections, adaptation strategies, and services to mitigate climate change impacts with research and education.

Aim

Common language on Climate Services for the projects, teach basis of Climate Services; technical and "philosophical" school.

Topics

Topics covered will include:

  • Climate dynamics and modelling
  • Climate Science, Service and current Challenges,
  • Earth system modelling and climate change
  • Consistent estimates of multiple Essential Climate Variables
  • Economic impact of Climate Change
  • Climate change impacts and sustainable mitigation and adaptation strategies for key human and societal activities;
  • Copernicus initiative and services
  • Scientific Infrastructure in the BIG data ERA
  • Data and tools to support public and commercial applications and policy development

Target audience

Early career researchers from the granted projects, 30-40 people

ERA-4CS-Summer School invites young researchers from all fields of climate research. The courses cover a broad spectrum of climate and climate impact research issues and foster cross-disciplinary links. Each topic includes keynote plenary lectures and round table with in-depth discussion in smaller groups.
